Medina Dairy Limited was founded in 1979 by Sardar Hussain. Medina is now run by his eldest son Sheazad Hussain supported by his brothers Arfaiz, Zain and Tabraiz along with his uncles Azam ,Sheraz and Nisar.
The Company also employs over 70 family members and relatives across the UK. The Company employs over 700 people in total.
The business is now the largest family owned milk processing Company in the UK supplying over 7,000 Retail and Wholesale Customers from 2 processing sites in Hampshire and Huddersfield to its 35 national Distribution Centres across the UK.
Turnover for 2010 has now grown to £202m. Much of the profit generated from the business is donated to charities in the UK and overseas.
Our 2 BRC accredited sites in Huddersfield and Hampshire are processing under our Watsons Brand supplying our 35 Depots across the UK with a fleet of 525 multi-temperature delivery vehicles.
The Watsons Brand is the fastest growing milk Brand in the UK and is being recognised as one of the largest UK food Brands in the market place.
The Watsons Brand now stretches across our Retail and Foodservice offer including products such as milk, cheese, butter, yogurts and eggs. All Watsons products are 100% British.
Despite tough market conditions we continue to see growth in the market due to the development of the Watsons range alongside the bakery products we sell from Hovis, Kingsmill and Roberts Bakery.
Our Foodservice business also continues to see good growth which has been supported by the development of the broad range offered to our Customers.
The ability of Medina to be able to supply nationally fresh products 6 days per week at competitive prices clearly gives us a position in the market to see continued growth.
