BA Cash & Carry was established in Cardiff in 1973 by Bashir and Sabri Ahmed. It was originally a small, successful Retail outlet which soon expanded into Wholesale, supplying take-aways and restaurants throughout South Wales and the West. Sales increased rapidly and in 1979 a new unit was acquired to accommodate the growing business. The Hadfield road warehouse was opened to the Retail and Catering trade to take advantage of the size of the Depot and over the following decades, has been expand several times to cope with our ever increasing Customer numbers. In 1991 the Swansea branch was opened which at that time was the largest Cash & Carry in Wales. In 1999 the Cardiff Depot was rebuilt into one of the most state of the art Cash & Carry's in the UK and has since gone on to win numerous Awards for its excellent standards and achievements.

As a Landmark Wholesale Member we too have been recognised for our excellence in Wholesaling having been Awarded the Landmark Wholesale Wholesaler of the Year Award for 4 years running (2003-2007).

The business is now run by the two sons Zahier Ahmed who sits on both the Landmark Wholesale Board and the Licensed Committee and Tanvier Ahmed who sits on the Foodservice and Grocery Committees. Since joining the business they have introduced a Delivered Service - BA Direct Wholesale Ltd to cater for the expansion into Delivered Wholesale and Foodservice.
