Landmark Wholesale has been awarded an 'Outstanding Achievement' Award at the respected Retail Industry Awards held on the 1st October at the Hurlingham Club in London.

The awards celebrate the great and the good from across the retail industry, with Landmark Wholesale singled out for the success achieved on its Hot House Retail Development Programme.

Announcing the special award at the end of the event, David Shrimpton, Editor of Independent Retail News, said: "The Outstanding Achievement Award goes to a company that has done more than any other to help regenerate the Independent Grocery Sector in recent years.

"The success of the project has benefitted not only the company itself, but also played a key role in the continued success of the Symbol Group Sector."

Landmark Wholesale was praised in particular for its leading the way within the industry on its 'Shop Often, Shop Local, Spend Less at Lifestyle Express' which has 'blazed a trail for the Sector as a whole'.

On collecting the award, Managing Director of Landmark Wholesale, Martin Williams said: "We are delighted and extremely proud to be recognised at these awards in the 'Outstanding Achievement' category. It is testament to the hard work, dedication and passion that the team has put in, not only over the past year, but over the four years since the start of the programme. We have developed an initiative that our Members, Suppliers and Retailers can be proud of, having achieved significant results within the Sector."

This is the third major award that the company has received within the past year, in recognition of its Hot House Retail Development Programme.
